Ronnie Oates’ Collection of Major League Baseball (MLB) Memorabilia from the1950’s

The baseball cards in this collection are mostly from the 1950’s and include cards of Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, and others. Most of the cards were obtained at John Bell’s store on Main Street in Faison, NC in the 1950’s. Bubble gum was sold in a wrapper that included a baseball card. The kids in Faison would buy the gum and many times would be disappointed by the card inside, but once in a while would open a wrapper and the card for one of a star baseball players would be inside. This collection of memorabilia also includes the autographs of Ted Williams and other MLB players, major league baseball game programs, Sport Magazines, and other memorabilia.
